| Whilst discussing something with Gage, I brought up Consensus Reality- which in a nutshell, is the answer to how we look at life, and define what is real, and what is not. The way it works is this; if enough people believe in something, it is defined as real. If it's not believed by the majority of the consensus, it's not real. Simple enough, yes? Let's apply this to the belief in Fairies, the supernatural, and mythical creatures. These things are seen as childish beliefs, believed in only by the mad, or the young- encouraged only in the latter. To children who are young and innocent, who haven't been roped into the consensus reality and who see the world only as they wish, anything is possible. Their imagination is real, and often it is said that young children can remember past lives, see ghosts, and are sometimes even empathic. Obviously, these things vary from child to child, depending on their personality and the upbringing- sometimes children will just play, and become fully absorbed into the consensus reality from the first stage of self awareness and awareness of the world around them. For a moment, dispel any disbelief in the more questionable things mentioned, and look at anything as possible. You may notice, in this period of open mindedness, you can find other explanations for things which happen in the world around us, perhaps even noticing things you would not have noticed before. Perhaps, the child-like innocence is what we need to see things that are not "real"- Believing is seeing, not the other way around.
This said, it's hard to simply pick up an object and say "I believe you are a rock, therefore you are a rock." A shoe or a glass will not instantly become a rock just because you say it is, remember that this is perception, nothing physical. Just putting this out there.

| A good song for this:
Got a package full of Wishes....A Time machine, a Magic Wand...A Globe made out of Gold
No Instructions or Commandments....Laws of Gravity or Indecisions to uphold
Printed on the box I see...A.C.M.E.'s Build-a-World-to-be...Take a chance - Grab a piece...Help me to believe it
What kind of world do you want?...Think Anything.....Let's start at the start....Build a masterpiece
Be careful what you wish for......History starts now...
Should there be people or peoples...Money, Funny pedestals for Fools who never pay....Raise your Army - Choose your Steeple....Don't be shy, the satellites can look the other way
Lose the Earthquakes - Keep the Faults....Fill the oceans without the salt...Let every Man own his own Hand
What kind of world do you want?....Think Anything....Let's start at the start....Build a masterpiece
Be careful what you wish for......History starts now...
***Sunlight's on the Bridge....Sunlight's on the Way....Tomorrow's Calling***
There's more to this than Love...
What Kind of world do you want?.....What Kind of world do you want?
What Kind of world do you want?....Think Anything....Let's start at the start...Build a masterpiece
History Starts Now
Be careful what you wish for...

| I'm not sure if the song directly applies to consensus reality, but thank you for that, Gage. (: | |

| Quite.
I'd like to hear what you all think of this, however. Opinions, beliefs, express them freely. I really am interested as to what you make of it. (:

| This, in a way, reminds me of the "Pill" experiment... 20 people were splitted into 2 groups of 10. 10 were given a tic-tac (but they thought it was an intelligent pill).... And 10 were not... Since the 10 thought they would be smarter, they did better on the test.....
This help? | |

This help? Actually, that has nothing to do with Consensus Reality, that's the placebo effect. Give an ill man sugar and tell him it's medicine, and he'll get better, etc. It's used in drug trials to this day to make sure that any effects are actually caused by the pill, and not just in the minds of the person.

| Placebo? No. Placebo cannot make things in the world around you change, it applies only to things that you yourself control- your health, your happiness, etc. | |
